FAQ

The short answers, up front.

  • Is BoostScore really free?

    Yes. Pulling your credit score, refreshing it monthly, and seeing your full report on BoostScore is free forever. We make money from optional add-ons like the AI coaching plan and, in future, from cashback partnerships on bill payments — never from selling your data.

  • Which credit bureau do you use?

    We pull your Equifax report at launch. Adding the other Indian bureaus — CIBIL, Experian, CRIF — is on the immediate roadmap; we will route to whichever bureau has the cleanest record of your credit history.

  • Will checking my score on BoostScore lower it?

    No. Pulling your own report is what regulators call a soft enquiry. Soft enquiries do not affect your score. Hard enquiries — the kind that come from applying for a new loan or card — are reported separately and we will never trigger one without a clear, on-screen consent step.

  • How is BoostScore different from going to a bureau directly?

    A bureau gives you the number. BoostScore explains the number, in your language, with a plan you can actually follow. We also fold in cashback on bill payments and a smarter consumer-app experience, so you do not have to keep a spreadsheet to track your own credit health.

  • What data do you collect?

    Only what we need to operate the service: your phone number, PAN, your Equifax report, the consent records the DPDP Act 2023 requires, and basic device telemetry to keep the app stable. Detailed list lives in our privacy policy. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers — full stop.

  • Is my data safe?

    Your data lives on servers physically located in Mumbai (AWS ap-south-1), encrypted at rest with AES-256, in transit with TLS 1.3, and is accessible only via short-lived credentials behind multi-factor auth. We follow the RBI's data-localisation guidance and the DPDP Act's processing principles. ISO 27001 certification is in progress.

  • How often does my score update?

    Once every 30 days, automatically. You can also pull a manual refresh on demand from the app if a recent payment or new account should have moved the needle. Manual refreshes use the same soft-enquiry channel — they will not impact your score.

  • What is the AI plan and what does it cost?

    The AI plan looks at your full bureau history and tells you the two or three things that will move your score the fastest, with concrete weekly steps. It is available on a paid subscription with a free trial. The score itself stays free whether you subscribe or not.

  • When is the cashback on bills launching?

    Cashback on credit-card bills and loan EMIs is in active build and will arrive in a follow-on release. We will open an early-access waitlist inside the app at launch — joining is free.

  • Do you support languages other than English?

    The mobile app launches in eight Indian languages on day one — English, Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. The web landing is English-first today and will follow with the same eight locales.

  • Can I delete my account and data?

    Yes, any time. Settings → Account → Delete account. We hard-delete your personal data within 30 days, except for the minimum we are legally required to retain (RBI / DPDP audit trails). You will get a confirmation email when the deletion completes.

  • How do I get support or raise a complaint?

    Email support@boostscore.ai for help. For escalations our Grievance Officer's contact details are listed on the Grievance page in the footer, in line with the RBI's grievance-redress norms.

  • Are you affiliated with a bank?

    No. BoostScore is independent. We work with banks and NBFCs commercially as cashback partners — we are not owned by, or owned with, any of them.

  • Will BoostScore show me loan or credit-card offers?

    Eventually, yes — and only when they are likely to be approved for your profile, with the all-in cost shown up-front. We will never run a hard enquiry without your explicit consent on a clearly-labelled screen.
